APEX EXPO IPC 29/03 -02/04/2009 - Las Vegas

Partecipazione di SEICA Inc. alla manifestazione di Las Vegas

We are happy to announce that the 2009 IPC Apex Trade Show, held in Las Vegas, NV, was quite successful.  There was much diversity among our visitors.  Within the United States, 4% of our visitors were from the Northeast, 12% from the South, 14% from the Midwest, and 58% from the West. 12% of our visitors were from Israel, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Brazil, and Italy.
The innovative Pilot V8, Flying Prober test system, was demonstrated by Luca Corli and Mike Casper.  The Pilot V8 represents the latest frontier in flying probe test technology and is the complete solution for those who want maximum performance.  The test tools and techniques of the Pilot V8 include FNODE signature analysis on the nets of the UUT, standard analog and digital in-circuit test, PWMON net analysis with power on the board, continuity test to detect open tracks on the PCB, visual tests for component presence/absence and rotation, optional functional test and boundary scan capabilities, and on board programming tools for digital devices.  Seica’s VIVA software is used, reducing valuable programming time and practically eliminating the possibility for error and omissions.
The FireFly, laser selective soldering system, received much attention as it was demonstrated by Kris Carlson.  Meeting any manufacturer’s need for maximum flexibility and addressing issues in regards to new lead-free alloys, the FireFly rises above the rest.  Boards and components are soldered correctly without undesirable thermal stress; the accuracy of the thermal process ensures high-quality of solder joints.  The FireFly’s laser technology also allows for a non-contact soldering process.  Seica’s cutting-edge VIVA Integrated Platform is ideal for the FireFly because it includes the VIVA software, fiber optic communication bus, and proprietary motion driver/controllers.  The FireFly was sent from the show to a new customer who purchased the selective soldering system.
The Strategy.TK ICT impressed spectators while being showcased by Robert Peet and Ryan Peterson.  This cost effective system has a compact design and small footprint, while including all the needs of a complete test system.  The Strategy.TK is a great economical solution without having any limitations of performance.  Having the ability to be customized and expanded makes this low-cost ICT system ideal for any contract manufacturer.
Our booth had Wii bowling, which brought out the competitive side in visitors, complimentary coffee, offering a nice refreshment for the attendees, and a Seica team making each aspect of the show run smoothly. The most success was with our Pilot V8 prober where scheduling of future benchmarks was the norm during the show.  Several high volume accounts had strong interest as well in our bed of nails ICT system. The show attendance was down quite dramatically from previous years however; those in attendance certainly showed a strong interest and most likely were requested to attend due to specific company needs.  We look forward to our continuation of discussing business needs and strategies with the prospects we gained from this year’s IPC Apex Trade Show.
