Until now, Special Type Test System (STTE) integrators and General Purpose ATE (GPATE) suppliers have designed their system by using commercial general purpose instrumentation. This, at times, forced the customer to accept more complex COTS instruments than what was needed to perform simpler stimulus and measurement analysis; essentially, buying more expensive instruments where only 10% of their functions were needed. Routing and connecting signals to the UUT is also a critical part of such systems, but is often left out of the standard commercial backplane offers, whether VXI, PXI or LXI. System power, general architecture, wiring and fixturing often leave the user with the dilemma of a difficult choice: take the cost-effectiveness of the STTE giving up generality of applications, or paying much more for a powerful GPATE? Seica’s LCMA offers an effective solution to the dilemma, with a full suite of products within the Valid Line, ranging from test-oriented instruments, to modular sub-systems, to full turn-key solutions. The modularity and scalability of the line allow responding both to targeted, cost-controlled requirements and to general, high performance specifications, without discontinuity and with capability to grow progressively. Off-the-shelf test oriented instrumentation is for example available to integrators with the RTE-80 Analog Set. Enclosed on a rack-able cabinet, the RTE-80 offers multiple stimulus and response capabilities to satisfy most standard ATE test requirements. RTE-80 benefits of the experience gained across the whole line of SEICA testers and can be readily driven within National Instrument or other COTS test environments. More complex requirements, either to be implemented on the design of an STTE or GPATE, or to be used to replace obsolete capabilities on an old ATE due to mid-life upgrade, find the response with the RTE-200. Housed on a 19” rack, this comprehensive analog subsystem includes DSP signal generation and measurement, signal routing and distribution to up to 320 channels, optional UUT supplies and embedded computer. Multiple RTE-200 can be stacked together; systems control is, as usual, within VIVA environment or external COTS environment. When looking for turn-key solutions, SEICA is ready to respond both to focused requirements and to powerful multi-purpose architectures. On the first issue, the Valid Line includes the COMPACT DT, on a rack-able or table version. Designed to best respond to cost-controlled projects, the COMPACT DT is a functional test system that can also be configured to provide fully integrated Boundary Scan (IEEE 1149) capabilities and thus effectively replace difficult to support in house solutions. Finally, STTE to GPATE requirements will find best landing on the ValidATE system. Offering almost unlimited expand capability, comprehensive range of receiver solutions, openness of software and hardware, ValidATE can be tailored for the target and leave freedom to evolve without overhead costs. |
